WHO WE ARE:
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ottawa–Cornwall is an archdiocese that includes part of the Province of Ontario and the suffragan dioceses of Hearst, Pembroke, and Timmins. On 6 May 2020, Pope Francis amalgamated the Archdiocese of Ottawa and the Diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall to create the Archdiocese of Ottawa–Cornwall. The Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall is a religious, non-for-profit organization that serves 525,387 Catholics in 127 parishes.
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Archbishop, the Chief Administrative Officer, “CAO”, leads the administrative efforts of the Archdiocese and provides support and guidance to the parishes so that they may practice the required stewardship required by both Canon and Civil law. This position has the responsibility to ensure that the financial and business activities of the Archdiocese serve and support the objectives of the Archdiocese’s Pastoral Plan and Mission Ministry. As a member of the Archdiocese’s senior leadership team, the CAO will be called to participate in discussions on the Pastoral Plan and Mission Ministry.
Reporting Relationships:
The following positions report to the CAO: Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Human Resources Manager, Property Manager, Senior Project Manager, Planning and Properties, Safe Environment Advisor, Executive Assistant Diocesan Administration, and Director of Cemeteries.
Our ideal candidate will be a highly capable individual ready to assume responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations of the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall, projects, and employees. The individual will have proven organizational, human resource and budget management experience and skill sets, but will also be a consummate “people person” - an experienced mentor keen to help managers and teams be the best they can be. They will exhibit thought leadership in navigating the new ‘hybrid’ world of work to maximize employee engagement, productivity, retention, and happiness.
