Prerequisite for Entering FormationMany seminary prospects have contacted me over the years from other parts of the world, who are interested in becoming a seminarian in our Archdiocese. The most important thing is that we get to know you in person. To do this, you need to live in the area and get to know some of our local clergy. If you live in another province of Canada of another part of the world, we cannot sponsor you financially, and there's no guarantee that we will accept you as a seminarian. I need to say this at the outset, to help avoid any disappointment. On the other hand, if you ARE living in the area, contact your parish priest and express your desire to become a parish priest, and we can begin the conversation. After we meet, I normally have monthly gatherings with other prospects, where we have guest speakers talk about various aspects of priestly ministry, the challenges and graces, as well as the various call stories. Sometimes we'll show great films on priesthood, and have socials to interact with like minded people and clergy.
